Depending on the type of herb, you will need to start by taking either a stem or a root cutting of the plant you want to grow. Woody, perennial herbs such as rosemary, southernwood, elder, hyssop, lavender, lemon verbena, purple sage and thyme are best to propagate by cuttings. More steps in the main article.
