The properties of everyday plastics are very different form those of the basic polymers. A wide range of additives or ‘designer materials’ are used to give plastics the required properties that allow manufacturers to create exactly what’s required form the raw materials.
Continued research clearly highlights a need for consumer to be come more aware and proactive when it comes to the hidden dangers in plastic products and packaging. Consumers need to ask more questions before purchasing foods in plastic packaging, especially when you find out what is in these wrappings and the effect upon humans and the environment.
