Osteopathy – Myths and Misunderstandings
Osteoporosis particularly affects the richest nations of the world. It will take major changes in our food habits and lifestyle to prevent the leaching of bone calcium, thereby allowing us to preserve the precious stores of calcium we already have in our bones.

Osteopathy has reached epidemic proportions in the western industrialised nations and represents a major threat to public health. Up to 25 per cent of the female population over the age of 50 have lost so much bone mass that they are at risk of suffering a fracture of the hip or back, with all thess dire consequences including the accelerated loss of bone calcium while immobile. While men are less affected than women, they do become more at risk to osteoporosis after the age of 70.

Throughout their lives, most of these people have regularly consumed generous portions of milk products, including cheese and yoghurt, which supposedly supply a reliable source of calcium for strong bones. However, in spite of all the claims by the dairy industry, there is no valid scientific evidence to support this theory and it is time to take this information to task.
