From 1 July 2005, the term ‘medical misadventure’ was replaced by a new category called ‘treatment injury’ for medical misadventure claims lodged with ACC. The Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Compensation Amendment Bill (no.3) as introduced on 2 August 2004, has had changes made to recategorize the term ‘medical misadventure’ when making an ACC claim for medical injury.
