I have tried my fair share of diets and eating disciplines over the years. I’ve eaten special foods, at specific times, in measured quantities. I’ve eaten in alignment with the seasons, moon cycles and body type and with every nutritional benefit considered and adhered to. I’ve eaten to gain weight for sport and lose weight for comfort and appeal, to clean my liver, clean my bowel, purify my blood and reduce my cholesterol.
The fascinating thing about each and every one of these eating disciplines is that they all worked if I stuck to them, and they all totally destroyed my pleasure and delight in eating. As it turns out, I am not alone in this experience I run a personal development programme for women called ‘Essential Women’, and have published a book called ‘Love, Light and Laughter’, covering a variety of exercises from the programme to help women reconnect with their sensual selves more and find a way to enjoy their food, and lose weight naturally.
