Emotional eating is more common than you may think and it is not necessarily something you are aware you are doing.
Do you ever find yourself reaching for the box of chocolates after a bad break-up, stocking up on carbohydrates when the rain falls, or even rummaging aimlessly around the pantry just because you have nothing else to do? And then you wonder how all these extra pounds came creeping on without you realising it! It is possible you could be emotional eating. When you think about emotional eating, it is common to instantly think about bigger emotional eating problems such as anorexia or bulimia but being an emotional eater doesn’t automatically means you have either of these conditions.
