There are so many varieties of mint plants, but the peppermint menthe mint is a source of methanol flavour used commercially for foods such as in ice creams, in baked goods, tobacco, some pharmaceutical medicines, alcohol, chewing gum, candy and other sweets, but traditionally used (carefully) as an anti-parasitic agent.
